Publikation: Bog/antologi/afhandling/rapportBogForskningpeer review

Abstract

The theme of this book is the concept of talent and its position on the education political agenda. It focuses on current initiatives to promote talent in the school - internationally, nationally and locally. It outlines how talent has appeared on changing policy agendas in the period from around 1950 and until today and analyses the underlying rationales for the coupling of talent and school. In its treatment of this the book revolves around the Danish education system and its Development in a historical and contemporary, international and local perspective. But the thematic analyses of talent in education will be done with a comparative and international perspective drawing on other national education systems and international organisations such as UNESCO, IEA and the OECD. The thematic analyses are focused on analysing how and why excellence has been priortised in education policies at different levels and how talent has been interpreted and implemented in educational practices.
