Abstract

Music is a communicative medium that is effective in arousing and sustaining attention and communicative engagement with girsl and women with Rett Syndrome. Timing, expectation, anticipation and musical structure combine to stimuloate turn-taking, intentional communication and pleasure reactions in this population.
