    Abstract

The guiding motivation for this book was to gain insight into action research from a social constructionist perspective, focusing on understanding how people co-construct knowledge, learning and change together through action research. The work with the book has been an inspiring and enriching journey. We are very grateful to all authors for their contributions where they have shared ideas and practices from their work with action research inspired by social constructionist ideas. Not only do these authors work as “future-forming” change agents, but they also contribute to the development of theory, and we therefore also look forward to following and gaining inspiration from their research contributions in the future. It is our hope that this book has served as inspiration for its readers and shown some of the many different ways in which social constructionist action research can be carried out. There is not only one “correct” way to work with action research, and the chosen approach will also be influenced and shaped by the professional and cultural backgrounds of the researchers and co-researchers and the contexts in which the research takes place.
