Abstrakt

This conference aims to present and reflect about the international study "Trial of
Improvisational Music Therapy's Effectiveness for Children with autism spectrum
disorders Autism Children" (TIME-A). This randomized controlled trial involving 9
different countries to verify the effects of music therapy intervention in social
communication of children with autism (aged between 4 and 6 years) in a pragmatic
context (close to reality). Participants were randomly allocated into three treatment
groups over 5 months: music therapy intensive (3 times per week), music therapy low
intensity (1 time per week) and control group. The effect of music therapy was verified
through the Social Responsiveness Scale scales (SRS) and Autism Diagnostic observation
Schedule (ADOS).
