Abstract

This paper uses a development project on a specific floor-system to illustrate the interaction of architecture and engineering. The work described aims at the development and architectural evaluation of a timber-based building technique for medium-rise residential houses. The interaction between structural engineering and architecture is regarded as a condition for qualitatively durable result and is consequently studied thoroughly.
