Abstract
Besides presenting a detailed ethnographic account in an area of activity – namely, architectural design – that has been little studied in anthropology, the paper shows how an anthropological approach to technology can offer an enhanced understanding of situated action, especially with regard to the dynamic interrelations between gesture and speech, and between drawing and writing.
