Abstract

The combination of creative assets in film and television production -
encompassing casting, location selection, costume design, and set decoration -
relies on fragmented workflows characterized by asynchronous communication,
incompatible data formats, and substantial coordination overhead. This paper
presents Greenlight, a novel information system architecture designed to address
these challenges through a unified data platform with role-based interaction
layers tailored to the distinct decision-making contexts of various production
stakeholders. The system employs fine-tuned generative artificial intelligence
models for script analysis and character extraction, establishing structured data
containers that facilitate subsequent talent matching processes. Through a player
view interface paradigm, Greenlight transforms traditional database interactions
into visually-oriented creative experiences that align with the cognitive processes
of directors and producers. The system further introduces a generative AI-
powered casting canvas that enables early-stage visualization of creative
combinations while maintaining regulatory compliance with data protection
requirements. We contextualize Greenlight within existing literature on group
decision support systems, collaborative creativity, and AI applications in media
production, demonstrating how the system addresses documented limitations in
current casting practices while establishing a generalizable model for creative
asset composition across production domains.
