Abstract
Containing over 2100 tables organized into seven sections, the handbook provides ecological and ecotoxicological data and parameters for modellers, theoretical scientists and environmental managers. The aim is to facilitate semi-quantitative calculations of environmental impacts and pollution effects based on fully referenced data. The seven chapters cover: composition and ecological parameters of living organisms, including the concentrations of various compounds and elements in living organisms, as well as data on size, volume and/or weight of organisms and on rate parameters; the ecosphere and chemical compounds, including data on physico-chemical processes such as biological decomposition, runoff, sorption, light and light processes, environmental processes of pesticides, and sediment and sediment processes; equations for environmental processes, using empirical equations mainly based on regression analysis; biological effects, with tables on the lethal and sublethal effects of individual compounds; chemical compounds and living organisms, giving information on concentrations of compounds in the biosphere; processes in the environment, giving equilibrium and rate constants; and pesticides, summarizing known effects of pesticides. -J.W.Cooper
