    Abstract

Dewey's notion of empirical philosophy has puzzled researchers. How does he circumvent the problems that are traditionally connected with the epistemology of representation? Dewey's answer could be found with his notion of experience that should be understood in a non-epistemological way. Then, experience describes a process of interaction with the world rather than representing a piece of world. the article demonstrates also how Dewey's notion of experience can be used in the analysis of art.
