    Abstract

The paper investigates impact of gender and personality traits on risk-aversion. The research was conducted in the Czech Republic using an on-line questionnaire. Data were collected between December 2016 and January 2017. Big Five Inventory-10 was used to measure personality traits. A validated Czech translation of the Big Five Inventory-10 instrument was used. Another independent variable was gender. The dependent variable was a measure of risk-aversion. The findings are that extroversion, neuroticism, and gender significantly influence risk-aversion. Neuroticism is positively linked to risk-aversion, extroversion is negatively linked to risk-aversion, and men are less risk-averse than women.
