Resumé

For EUs fælles fiskeripolitik er løsningen af discard problemet et centralt spørgsmål. Gennem et studie af det institutionelle set up og tiltag for at løse discardproblemet i Danmark, Færøerne, Island og Norge, identificerer artiklen discardproblemet som relateret til naturmæssige og andre materialle forhold såvel som kulturelle betingelser. Derfor kræver løsning af discardproblemet ikke kun tekniske og reguleringsmæssige instrumenter, men også arenaer og strukturer der tillader og understøtter kulturelle forandringsprocesser.
