Abstract
Based on the lessons learnt from the years of the Great Recession, modern mainstream macroeconomics has been subject to a lot of criticism, theoretically as well as methodologically. Modern economies are not performing to perfection following an intertemporal equilibrium path of full employment in the longer run. Modern economies may be stuck at disequilibrium positions for longer periods than just temporarily in the very short run. More so, modern mainstream macroeconomics could be exposed to a different kind of criticism. What about ethical aspects? Ought macroeconomics not concern itself with questions of morality?
