Abstract

This paper investigates the linearization of active antenna arrays with non-uniform power distributions, which is challenging for conventional linearization methods. A technique based on the nonlinearity consistencies existing among the PAs is proposed and the technique allows linearizing the whole array using a single pre-distortion signal. Simulation results with a four-element array using GaN PAs show that the proposed technique can improve the ACPRs of the PAs in the array by up to 16 dB.
