Abstract

This article presents a new typology for user-positioning in museum dissemination. First we examine different sources of inspiration for the typology in the form of 2- and 3-dimensional matrixes. Then, frameworks are developed for the typology through the identification of relevant, central dimensions and variables within the area of user-positioning in museum dissemination. Next we study the individual types within the typology and describe representative cases for each type. Finally, we conclude by pointing to different uses and consequences of the typology, as well as its further perspectives.
