This playbook is a digital guide for facilitators and companies that want to get started with industrial symbiosis. Perhaps you have heard about it and want to test how it can contribute to your business. Perhaps you enter into several symbiotic collaborations and want to boost your sustainable activities. Or perhaps you lack some inspiration on how to activate your network and strengthen your collaborations. You will find inspiration for all this in this guide.

The guide is also for you, who want to act as a facilitator for the symbioses by identifying new possible collaborations, matchmaking and helping the partnership towards realization. It requires process knowledge, tools and resources. The playbook collects these specifically for each step of the process and presents them in an easily accessible way.

The digital guide is the result of the two-year work carried out in project GRØN, supported by the EU regional fund and the Business Promotion Board through the decentralized business fund funds, where the CLS has worked closely with the Network for Sustainable Business Development Northern Denmark and five northern Jutland municipalities (Vesthimmerland, Hjørring, Thisted, Mariagerfjord and Morsø), Erhvervscenter Væksthimmerland, Mariagerfjord Business Council, Hydrogen Valley, Aalborg University and Port of Aalborg. The guide is the essence of the experiences in the project of developing 28 symbioses between 84 companies, where 54 green business models were developed for 49 SMEs.
