Abstrakt

This report present the results of 2D physical model tests (length scale 1:50) carried out in a waveflume at Dept. of Civil Engineering, Aalborg University (AAU). The objective of the tests was: To identify cross section design which restrict the overtopping to acceptable levels and to record the wave loadings corresponding to design wave conditions, and to investigate the toe stability.

The Model tests include:
Measurement of overtopping corresponding to three different return period sea states. Two water levels are included. The average overtopping discharge and its spatial distribution behind the crown wall have been measured. The model has been subjected to irregular waves corresponding to typical conditions offshore from the intended prototype location. Characteristic situations have been video recorded. The stability of the toe has been investigated.
The wave-generated forces on the caisson and the crown have been recorded. The maximum of horizontal wave force and the related tilting moment together with the pressure distribution are documented for waves in the range of design conditions.
The parameters and results in the report are given in full-scale values, if nothing else is stated.
