Abstract

Objectives: This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (prognosis). The objectives are as follows:. Primary objectives The primary objectives are to identify, describe, and appraise all prognostic models developed to predict colorectal cancer incidence or mortality in patients with IBD, at any time point after the clinical diagnosis of IBD, and if possible meta-analyse their predictive performances. Investigation of sources of heterogeneity between studies Sources of heterogeneity to be investigated comprise differences in the definition of colorectal dysplasia, colorectal cancer and IBD, the type of IBD investigated, study design, time point for prognostication after the clinical diagnosis of IBD, time horizon for outcome measurements, length of follow-up, and statistical analysis applied (Debray 2017).
