Abstract

In recent decades there has been an increased focus in Denmark, the other Nordic as well as EU countries in improving pupil´s interest in science to make them choose for a post-compulsory education within this area. In the effort of making more pupils choose such an educational track there has been an increased interest in ‘interest’ and interventions aimed at developing the pupil’s general interest in these subjects at primary school level. With other words: there has been an interest in pupils ‘interest’ in science. In this presentation we analyse and present some results from a four year development project conducted at four Danish schools aiming on improving pupil’s interest in the natural sciences in a problem based learning environment (PBL).
