N2 - We have realized environmentally stable silicon-on-insulator based photonic crystal waveguides. The waveguide structure is designed to minimize scattering at semiconductor/hole interfaces. Transmission measurements and IR pictures indicate efficient guiding through straight and bent waveguides.
