Abstract

The present contribution presented itself to the editors as a pleasant epiphany. While busy investigating arts-based methods in education around the world, we became aware of the lack of specific focus on China and Chinese contexts. This awareness, together with the intention of addressing the cultural bias that these studies risk to have, ended up initiating the collection of this volume. Our intention was to tell the stories of encounters -West/East, arts/education, creativity/learning- from a culturally respectful global perspective.
