Abstract

This work presents a new structure for improving the vibration response of a micro electromagnetic energy harvester. Compared with the primary structure, the new structure has additional ring magnets placed on the two ends of the device. This new mechanism helps to solve the problem of poor response. Two different structures with two ring magnets and four ring magnets are modeled and analyzed in this paper, respectively. As a result, the proposed structure with four ring magnets could effectively reduce the harmful cogging force and the resonant frequency, while not scarifying the available flux variation in the same displacement range.
