Abstract

Before switching to a new controller it is crucial to
assure that the new closed loop will be stable. In this
paper it is demonstrated how stability can be checked with
limited measurement data available from the current closed loop.

The paper extends an existing method to linear parameter varying
plants and controllers. Rather than relying on frequency domain
methods as done in the LTI case, it is shown how to use standard LPV
system identification methods.

By identifying a filtered closed-loop operator rather than directly
identifying the plant, more reliable results are obtained.
