Abstract
This paper raises a number of methodological and theoretical issues confronted by organisational ethnographers in a global setting. Following an initial framing of global organisation, I shall discuss the opportunities for ethnographic research in complex organisations, taking into account the multi-sited, multicultural and multilingual character of global companies. The general aim is to question the position of ethnographers in global business, underlining the relevance of current debates about globalisation and cosmopolitanism to the practice of organisational ethnography.
