Abstract

The exhibition took sound art to the streets and city spaces of the city of Roskilde, Denmark. Working with the premise that sound is part physical, part mental the exhibition investigated the constitution of the social space in a democratic sphere of 2003 - the year when Denmark for the first time since 1864 became part of an agressive war, the war in Iraq. Roskilde was also the centerpiece in the peaceful transformation into a constitutional democratic monarchy in 1848. The artists were asked to work with aspects of those premises.
