Abstract

This articles empiri is from a 3-year case study in a mature industry organization. The study are built on participatory action research. Voluntary democratic participation has been crucial, so the leaders were asked to send a motivated application for participation in the project. In the organization, a practice has been developed with the use of external experts when new initiatives or changes were to be established. The organization's leaders have not been accustomed to being involved as a cultural knowledge resource. The project has had the purpose of influencing participants' insight into the cultural concept and in the specific culture in particular. Through dialogues we have managed to create new realizations about the culture and with these new recognitions, the culture has been changed and we have created new knowledge.
