Abstract

A novel interpolation algorithm using a variable kernel of pixels elements has been proposed to improve the details visibility in the sectored image after scan conversion. The key idea is to vary kernel size with respect to the scan conversion input samples information collected locally in a given pre-defined radius. Preliminary experiments, using natural images, demonstrate that the overall performances of the proposed interpolation algorithm are superior to the performance of traditional algorithms, mentioned. Cardiac ultrasound data based experiments showed that the proposed algorithm sectored images had more visible details than sectored images obtained using traditional algorithms.
