Abstract

This report has been prepared by the Wave Energy Research Group within the Division of Reliability, Dynamics and Marine Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering at Aalborg University (AAU). The study was commissioned for the Grøn Christainsø project, under a contract agreement with Strunge Jensen A/S.

The purpose of this study is to perform a preliminary analysis to indicate a viable solution for Christiansø to take advantage of the considerable wave energy resource available at location and use it to satisfy the energy consumption of the island. AAU has received background data, and particularly electrical energy consumption data in terms of a 1 year record of hourly data point for Christiansø island, used as the basis for consumption demand. The data were provided by Strunge Jensen A/S for the period 01.09.2016 to 31.08.2017.

The analysis and reporting has been carried out by Lucia Margheritini and Jens Peter Kofoed during late 2017 / early 2018, with frequent communication and consultation of Ole Daniels from Strunge Jensen A/S. Contact regarding this work can be made to Jens Peter Kofoed, jpk@civil.aau.dk.
