N2 - When discussing a future decarbonized Europe, it is discussed in several studies how much employment an investment in such a future might lead to. Establishing this might be highly relevant, but it is treated as self-evident why so many try to estimate employment effect. In the paper some possible reasons are discussed. More importantly, we cannot estimate the employment effects with any degree of certainty. So, consumers, producers, and states must invest in renewable energy because it is the right thing to do and because it has been demonstrated that we can easily afford it.
