A Seminar: Recent advances of Operational Modal Analysis and Applications in Structural Health Monitoring
Rune Brincker (Lecturer)
Activity: Talks and presentations › Talks and presentations in private or public companies
The seminar will start with an overview of the history of OMA developments and move on to several more recent research efforts focusing on increasing the robustness and maturity of OMA methods. These topics include; mode shape scaling strategies, identification of harmonic responses in operational data, and implementation of automated ID methods in OMA measurement and monitoring applications.
The second topic of the seminar is an overview of Structural Health Monitoring strategies with an emphasis on recent implementations of SHM systems and strategies using OMA based monitoring methods. The presentation will start with the evolving definition of SHM in the engineering research community. Some commentary on the perspective of building owners and their expectations will also be presented as a part of this overview. This introduction to SHM will be followed with a presentation of monotoring and implementation strategies used in several recent functional SHM installations and programs.
