The Innovation Cycle is a portfolio of managed services and activities in support of EAI mission. It defines the sustainability model of EAI and a social model of interaction between participants as well as between service users and providers. The Innovation Cycle is composed of the six segments representing the EAI vision of activities perceived as fundamental to Europe’s innovation based competitiveness.

The Innovation Cycle participative model is based on a combination of value services provided by EAI members, crowd-sourcing idea development supported by EAI Summits and Portals and collaborative interactions through participation to the SIBs.

Science, Innovation, and Business (SIB) Councils: Fast track from concepts to consumers

SIB Councils bring together all key players within the ICT innovation cycle facilitating the spread of innovative ideas and identifying growth areas. SIBs bridge the gap between research and market by favoring cross-fertilisation of ideas between participants from different backgrounds and fostering innovation activities. Participants meet on-line in an open environment of SIB portal to exchange ideas, collaborate and engage in scientific and business activities with their fellows while enhancing professional development and networks.

SIB portal offers the necessary tools for fruitful interaction between the participants in specific topics. There participants can create partnerships, disseminate publications and organise conferences, benchmark new breakthroughs and evaluate prototypes amongst many possible activities. They can share ideas, publish their news or videos, and write collectively white papers or other reports. Alternatively, they may initiate and encourage participation in new SIBs, Summits or other relevant activities. In addition, participants in SIBs may access business support services, such as writing business plans to increase competitiveness in the marketplace.

The most brilliant minds of experts in research and industry are the force that shapes the future of Europe. Therefore, SIBs are organized around the principles of democratic participation and open discussion among the participants either on-line in the SIB Portal or in person during the SIB Summits.
