Abstract: Mobility and Museum The aim of my contribution is to discuss conceptions of mobility on the basis of how mobility has been presented in various types of contemporary car museums. Among car museums considered will be the Zeithaus in Volkswagen’s car theme park Autostadt at Wolfsburg, the BMW Museum at Munich, the Mercedes-Benz Museum and the Porsche Museum at Stuttgart. It seem that each of these museums have succeeded in presenting, each in its own way, modern driving as an individualized aesthetic enterprise and experience and in making mobile objects and mobility into almost art.
