Emotional labour: co-constructing volunteer stories in Krakow

The paper reflects on interviewing as a method for collecting volunteer experiences. This starts from an idea of interviews as ‘emotional labour’, which leads to considerations about questioning techniques, including the use of elements from practice theory to pin stories to particular places, objects or situations. The presentation includes preliminary findings from interviews with 10 volunteers in Krakow, which highlight the influence of affect on volunteers acting for Ukraine.
