Description
Presentation by Diana Moreno newly PhD from Aalborg University with the following subject:
GIS (Geographic Information Systems) in the context of sustainable energy planning is used to perform geographical analysis that investigate local and connectivity potentials.
A 5-step framework called GeoPLAN is introduced which elaborates on the design of geographical tools through purpose to analysis and evaluation.
Two cases are described, the first one is an open source tool to identify heating demands via building footprints.
The second is a model to identify excess heat for renewable baseload in DH systems.
The presentation will focus on the description of the framework and models. Later, we will join in groups to discuss the following topics:
- Can the framework be used for your work? If so, how can this be implemented? - What are the benefits of the geographic models and what can they tell us about future DH systems?
