The Nordic network ‘What’s law got to do with it? Labour exploitation in the Nordic context’ will in collaboration with Global Refugee Studies AAU Cph, host an open seminar that focuses on governing labour migration through anti-trafficking policies. This seminar explores how human trafficking is not only connected to the sex industry, but also to other industries such as cleaning and construction. Migrants working in different industries experience different forms of exploitation and coercion. How do the state and other actors, such as the trade union, understand these migrant’s work experiences? Are ‘social dumping’ and ‘forced labour’ more applicable concepts? If so, to whom? Additionally, how do the migrants benefit from the policy field of anti-trafficking?
