Description

On March 22 and March 23, 2019, I attended the Thirteenth Annual Feminist Theory Workshop at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. The workshop featured lectures by keynote speakers, who are considered to be leading and groundbreaking scholars within the field of Gender Studies. Lauren Berlant, C. Riley Snorton, Jocelyn Olcott, and Kim TaliBear presented works-in-progress, and scholars attending the workshop were thus introduced to and discussed research that is being done right flow and which will shape the field of Gender Studies in the future. On the second day of the conference, participants were divided into smaller groups and asked to discuss some of the issues raised by the keynote speakers. In these smaller groups, we had to formulate a statement on current trends and concerns within the field of Gender Studies. The workshop ended with a roundtable discussion.
