University of Southern Denmark

  • Anne Bettina Pedersen (Visiting researcher)

Activity: Visiting another research institution

Description

I had a research stay at University of Southern Denmark (SDU) (from October 1 to December 31). I was invited by Dag Heede, head of the research group SuKK (Sundhed, Køn, Krop og Reproduktion), to come to SDU for my research stay. While at SDU, I attended seminars ("At skrive queer historie" at the LGBTQ Library in Copenhagen in October and "Seminar around Jill Locke and 'Democracy and the Death of Shame'" (in collaboration with the research group Cultural Transformations, headed by Anne Scott Sørensen)) and gave a presentation on my dissertation at a SuKK meeting attended by my co-supervisor, Nina Lykke, who has also been associated with the research group for years. The group gave me feedback, which I will draw on during the process of writing about embroidery as a tool for the so-cial conditioning of girls and women as well as my production of an embroidered shroud.
