I will be giving a lecture on my PhD project, which focuses on the 1965 murder of Sylvia Marie Likens in Indianapolis.

    From the website:
"Anne Bettina Pedersen will present on her current PhD project, "(Un)Making Sylvia Likens: Towards a Theory on Femicide Narratives" - which examines the portrayal of victims of femicide in popular culture and discusses the ethical considerations and costs of giving voice to or highjacking stories of victims of femicide. Her specific focus is the 1965 murder of Sylvia Marie Likens in Indianapolis and the various narratives based on or inspired by this specific murder. This project is creating bridges between academia, art, and activism. This event is perfect for people who are interested in TV, gender studies, and true crime!"
