Description

A study by the Danish Center for Health Services Research at Aalborg University has found a significant increase in the number of individuals diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AF), a condition affecting over 37 million people globally. The lifetime risk of developing AF has risen from 25% to 33%. Postdoctoral researcher Dr Nicklas Vinter from Aalborg University notes that the increase in AF cases is partly due to advancements in medical diagnostics and an ageing population.(Summary provided by Infomedia) Sources:The Thaiger, 16-05-2024
