Description

n ominous pattern has begun to take shape in the southwestern part of Jutland, especially in small towns located on the countryside. In the area around the town of Ødis, three cases of bone marrow cancer have been identified, even though this is a particularly rare type of cancer. "The differences are significant. We can say without blinking that there are more people being diagnosed with bone marrow cancer in these municipalities," says Marianne Tang Severinsen, professor at the Department of Hematology at Aalborg University Hospital and the head of the research project. At the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Aalborg University Hospital, senior physician Jakob Bønneløkke is searching for climate influences that could explain this geographical hotspot for bone marrow cancer.(Summary provided by Infomedia) Sources:Tek Deeps, 15-04-2023
