Regulating cholesterol levels might be the key to improving cancer treatment

Press/Media: Press / Media

Description

Researchers from Aarhus University and Aalborg University have discovered a mechanism that could enhance cancer treatment by regulating cholesterol levels to improve the function of the STING protein, a key component of the immune system's defense against cancer cells. Among others, the study involved Emil Kofod-Olsen, a specialist in STING signalling and cancer immunology, as well as Baocun Zhang and Søren Riis Paludan who have expertise in the molecular biology of the STING protein.
