Description
Research Focus
The primary research focus of the Laboratory of Neuropsychology and Pain is to use state-of-the-art research methods to investigate cognitive and emotional factors that influence the experience of pain as well as the neurophysiological and behavioral changes that occur with persistent and chronic pain.
Specialized Equipment
Electroencephalography (EEG) for measuring brain activity and neuroplasticity
Electromyography (EMG) for measuring muscle activity
Cognitive and emotional models
Virtual reality and Illusory perceptual models
Tools for quantitative sensory testing (QST)
Conditioned pain modulation (CMP)
Autonomic responses (heart rate variability, pupillography, galvanic skin response)
