VILA stands for 'Video research Lab Aalborg University' - a cross-faculty initiative supported through DIGHUMLAB's theme 3 and the Department of Culture and Learning.
VILA brings together experts from several research domains at Aalborg University working with digital video production as well as analysis, to facilitate knowledge creation and sharing of best practices across research communities who work with video data collection, production and analysis – both locally and nationally.
VILA has several hardware- and software solutions available for video editing and analytical purposes. These include: Adobe Creative Cloud, Transana, Elan, Plural Eyes and Praat and audio/video conversion software. The software is installed on PC's that have sufficient computing power for big projects.
