Autonomous robotics and artificial intelligence are transforming how we explore, work, and interact with the world. These technologies enable safer operations in hazardous environments, drive innovation in automation, and expand our capabilities in areas beyond human reach.
The Advanced Robotics & AI group at the Department of Electronic Systems is focused on advancing the capabilities of self-learning autonomous robotic systems in extreme environments. Our research enhances robotic autonomy, allowing these systems to operate independently in some of the most challenging settings.
We specialize in deep reinforcement learning, advanced perception, and control, for robot applications in real-world scenarios where human access is limited or dangerous, such as space exploration, chemistry and material science laboratories, and underwater missions.
