Research
Research at the Faculty of Engineering and Science (ENGINEERING) is wide-ranging, spanning from disciplines such as math, physics and chemistry for sustainable energy engineering, nanotechnology and global business systems. Our research revolves around the major global societal challenges, for example converting to green energy, ensuring clean water for the world’s population or smart and innovative methods of production.
Departments
Five departments, each, conduct research at the faculty within their core area as well as collaboratively across areas and with other national and international research institutions in order to achieve the best results.
The departments are:
- Department of the Built Environment
- Materials and Production
- Chemistry and Bioscience
- Mathematical Sciences
- AAU Energy
Education
We train graduates for the labor market of the future. This means that we are continuously ensuring that our program offerings meet the need for graduates in the surrounding community. Like the rest of Aalborg University, the programs at ENGINEERING are based on a project- and problem-based approach to learning (the PBL model), where collaboration has our strong focus.
You can find information about the faculty's PhD programme at The Doctoral School of Engineering and Science.
Knowledge collaboration
The faculty prioritizes collaboration with the surrounding community. We wish to promote knowledge dissemination and industrial and commercial exploitation of our research for the benefit of both private companies, public institutions, entrepreneurs and educational institutions – and not least to create jobs. Read more about the opportunities for national and international collaboration.
