Who we are?
We are specialists from Sport Sciences, Engineering, Physiology, Biomechanics, Coaching and Ergonomics. The interdisciplinary character of the group enables us to approach applied as well as fundamental research questions in a holistic manner.
Our research – what we do?
Our research focuses on both basic and applied research related to human movement. On the basic level, we strive for a fundamental understanding of neuromuscular, physiological and biomechanical principles and possible adaptations to physical activity. On the applied level, we make use of the generated new knowledge and methods to improve performance or prevent injuries in sports, exercise physiology, biomechanics and ergonomics.
How does our research contribute to societal health challenges?
In an attempt to meet societal challenges, we address questions related to physical activities among young and elderly people, for able-bodied and disabled persons as well as patients. Accordingly, we develop and apply new research methods to assess plastic changes of the nervous system and the musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems. An important component of this effort is dedicated to the improvement of training modalities and equipment in parallel with innovative technological developments.
Who are our key collaborators?
