A cross-institutional and cross-disciplinary research cluster on family law, practices, and policies is in the process of being implemented, endorsed and hosted by the Institute of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences, Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark. Historically, the intellectual exchange leading to the establishment of this cluster started within the field of Danish family law but developed by an intellectual exchange between law studies and anthropology in Denmark, and then added a cultural historical dimension within a Nordic context. The latest addition to the perspectives of the network has been the inclusion of international experts in comparative family law and in cross-disciplinary family and gender studies.
