CEDOMUS: Centre for dokumentation and research in music therapy

The research group CEDOMUS plans, manages, and disseminates research and teaching in music therapy at Aalborg University.

The music therapy profession is highly specialized. This entails a need for close and continuous collaboration to develop both teaching, profession, theory, and research in music therapy. The research group therefore covers many activities that jointly contribute to the development of the music therapy profession.

The research group's activities:

  • Create an inspiring and thriving academic environment for students and staff
  • Coordinate and ensure the quality of research-based learning strategies on the bachelor's and master's program in music therapy (musikterapi.aau.dk)
  • Coordinate and ensure the quality of research-based learning strategies on the MPS-training (Music, Psychology and Health (www.aau.dk/uddannelser/efteruddannelse/heltid-paa-deltid/musik-psykologi-sundhed
  • Administer and update the research dissemination web portal cedomus.aau.dk
  • Organise the international PhD specialisation in music therapy (mt-phd.aau.dk)
  • Coordinate the Music Therapy Research Centre in Psychiatry (MuFiP)
  • Initiate high-quality research projects within the field of music therapy according to sustainable development goals
  • Develop both practice research and controlled clinical trials
  • Collaboration with other research environments and practice milieus
  • Participate in interdisciplinary and international research collaboration
  • Contribute to research dissemination (publications, conferences, presentations, network collaboration, organisational actors, social media, and press)
  • Integrate and carry out research in PBL, didactics, and learning
