Where engineering meets molecular biology and informatics meets anthropology
Our research covers implantable devices, sensor-technology, human biology and the digital healthcare revolution. Interdisciplinary research is mandatory and a part of our DNA.
Our primary goal is to individualize the patient’s treatment and rehabilitation in a way that the patient is minimally hospitalized with the least effect on everyday life as possible. We aim to address the demands of the modern orthopedic patient.
Aalborg University Hospital has an extensive research collaboration with national and international partners covering the whole spectrum in orthopaedic surgery from joint replacement or preservation, advanced traumatology with extensive reconstruction surgery, to children with congenital defects.
Orthopedic research is an intersection where engineering meets molecular biology and informatics meets anthropology. In short, our research covers implantable devices, sensor-technology, human biology and the digital healthcare revolution. Interdisciplinary research is mandatory to address all aspects, and we are proud to say: a part of our DNA.
Aalborg University offers a unique opportunity for interaction with some of the world’s leading experts in health technology, health economics and engineering. For two consecutive years, Aalborg University has been ranked no. 4 in the world – and no. 1 in Europe – for having the best engineering education. Hence, there is a close collaboration between clinicians and engineers, who are combining areas of research to make ground-breaking progress.
