The Visual Analysis and Perception lab is located in Aalborg, Denmark and devoted to basic and applied research within computer vision and AI. The lab was formed in 2011 (under the name Visual Analysis of People lab) by professor Thomas Moeslund. The lab has a strong tradition of conducting research within fundamental problems like detection, segmentation, tracking, abnormality and activity understanding. Initially the focus was on systems that automatically sensed people in 2D images and inferred information about them. But today research also focuses on other types of sensor data like thermal and depth, and a range of diverse application areas like production industries, robotics, agriculture, water, drones, animals, food, medical, traffic, etc.
