Research profile

I hold the position of associate professor in musicology, specializing in research on music analysis, sound branding, and media psychology, including the interplay between music and images in audiovisual media. My research encompasses both qualitative and quantitative methods, including how diverse data can be integrated and conveyed in an aesthetically appealing manner. In this context, I merge my musicological interest with media and communication studies, semiotics, aesthetics, affective computing, and data visualization.

Teaching profile

Currently, I teach on Aalborg University programs in Music (BA and MA), Communication and Digital Media (BA), Communication (MA), and Media Studies, reflecting my research interests. On the Music program, I cover areas such as music theory, voice leading and harmonization, music analysis, sound branding, as well as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), epistemology, and methodology. My teaching on the media and communication programs includes film analysis, applied aesthetics in communication change, and effectiveness assessment of communication using information technology.

Administrative profile

I am the head of the Study Board for Art, Health, and Technology, which includes the educational programs Music (BA and MA), Music Therapy (BA and MA), Art and Technology (BA), as well as the Nordic/international master's programs Visual Studies and Art Education and Media Arts Cultures.
